droid x and quickdesk

Anybody found a way to make quickdesk work on droid x? Motorola has chosen to set the home doubletap to voice commands and while it can be changed, it cannot be set to quickdesk or turned off (fail.) Has anybody found a way to make this work? I tried to contact the developer but could only comment on his website. Any help would be really appreciated.

I've gotten QuickDesk to work by setting Double Tap Timing to 700 for QuickDesk (Preferences/Behavior Settings/Double Tap Timing). QuickDesk comes up when you do a slow double tap on the Home key. The default launch double tap for the DroidX (Settings/Applications/Double tap home launch) still displays with a quick double tap.

I have it launch from holding the search button down... download homesmack and it lets u do that.
