Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on the difference. You can use rom manager to make a recovery same as bootstrapper but it almost seems much easier on rom manager and its free. Im going to flash my first rom and Im wondering which I should use. Already havetitanium backup now i need the next step.

Thanks

I have both. I don't flash Roms back and forth that often so I just use Bootstrapper. I find it just as easy as Rom Manager.

I use both. I like making backups in rom manager because you can name the backup at the time you make it instead of renaming the file later.

Bootstrapper is required to overload the locked bootloader on the DX. You can't install any rom without it.
You'll need it if you want to do anything in CWM
Rom manager does make things easier but I would suggest learning how to do it with just CWM...just in case.

Thanks I was thinking I might need both because I was leaning towards liberty to and iI wasnt sure it was on RM but it looks way easier to manage the flashes with it.

Rom Manager is awesome but i think knowing how to do it without RM will better prepare you for when something doesn't go as planned.
I use RM all the time now to manage backups and keep CWM updated.

I've never seen the need for ROM Manager. I don't flash ROMs often enough to warrant it, and using Bootstrap is pretty easy as it is.

Both are great and together you got a solid foundation when it comes to roms. I personaly like to give my backups their own title. You can't do that with bootstrap

True. I put all my backups on my computer's hard drive though, so I rename them there.

You could also just rename them through whatever file manager you use.

pretty sure ROM manager needs to be installed for bootstrap to work as bootstrapper takes you into CW recovery. You need both.
