Droid X Findings Thread!

not really a fix for the contacts issue but you can link accounts and that will clear up the whole splew of them and kill off doubles and screen names.\

-view your contact
-hit menu
-link contacts

this doesnt work well with twitter or anything that has an unusual screen name because sometimes the twitter SN dominates the contact and is listed as that. I just turned off the native twitter and went third party so its not that bad. The benefit of facebook is that most people use their names so it links well with the phone contacts.

Still this part of the phone sucks lol. Im honestly considering the samsung or incredible

Turns out you can screen your FB and Twitter feeds via the social plugin but mine only let's me add 23 contacts. Looks bugged.

Between the screen freezes, horrid contact management, and little bugs like this Im really surprised this phone got such rave reviews. Tons of potential but will Moto fix any of this?

Def not giving up yet here. But after day one I can't say Id reccomend this phone to someone else. Moto def seems to have shipped a buggy os or my phone is broken.

I use these items, and don't have the issues you mention. Alot of folks will have some learning curve migrating to android! Mine isn't buggy at all! I fixed my 1 issue with album art last night....

I have the Vignette camera app installed, and noticed that it becomes the default camera application for the phone. It's actually nice because I use that app more than the native camera. I can always select the Moto camera from the app launcher.

Has anyone else had problems with a blank screen on the browser? Just this morning I tried loading several pages and got nothing. I powered off and restarted and it was fine after that. A friend of mine said he has to power cycle his Nexus One every now and then.

On the Select Contacts filter of the Social Widget can you select 30 or 35 different contacts? Mine is buggy as hell. If I uncheck a person, it probably only has a 25% of saving it. I have to go back in multiple times and uncheck, save, uncheck save before it finally works.

If you can flat out go in and select 30 or 40 users and save it and go back in and see them still checked then my phone is on the sick bed. ;/

i did have a troublesome experience with the googlenav app and had to force close it twice. but when it did work it was awesome. it is still a beta so i cant complain

One thing I notice that has been fixed (at least on mine) from the original droid was unlocking the phone.

I got my first Motorola Droid from BB a couple of weeks ago. Exchanged for the Droid X when they came out within my 30 days.

One thing I hated on the Droid was if the phone was laying on my desk and I got a notification and the screen was locked, I had to pick up my phone and press the top unlock button and then swipe the unlock icon. Hated it!

Now with the X, same scenario, all I have to do is press the Home button and swipe. No longer have to pick it up.

I know that is small, but huge for me!!!!
