Droid X Froyo Question

My ringer volume is loud enough, I'd just like to be able to cut & paste in GMail. That I can't do that on the Droid X, totally baffles me.

They at least fixed the gmail copy and paste in froyo, so no worries. Actually this week Google just updated Google apps again, I'm using it and some nice enhancements. Man I love being rooted causewmt get to flash all updates immediately from the repository. No waiting for some company to decide when to roll it out to you.

what will we need? as ive read through out the world web is there is a bunch of tweaks and stuff all ready from froyo on our x that is whys its fast. id like to know the apps to sd will work with x? we do not need since we are the only android with 8gb of memory. the froyo gallery we already have. most likely JIT and some othere tweaks under the hood.

You might have a point there actually. I just read Phil's what's new article for Froyo on the EVO and a lot of that stuff looks like features HTC added. I could be wrong but I kind of doubt Motorola will provide much in the way of eye candy. So Unless you really want flash, Froyo might be kind of boring. I don't think additional MFLOPS, or whatever they are called, is really going to be all that noticeable in day to day use. The EVO looked like it was performing the same as it always did.

I think what us X owners really need - more than Froyo - is an update that fixes several of the bugs that people are experiencing.

Well look at all the cool things HTC is adding and/or fixing with their Froyo update. Adding widgets, 720p recording, Swype, and updated Facebook integration with the Calender. They are adding features to the camera and all kinds of stuff I have been reading about. So I don't think it is to far fetched for Moto to do the same when they are ready to roll out their Froyo update.

The only one I can see iffy is the speaker volume cause we don't know if it is a software issue or a hardware one. But couldn't be hard to just let the smileys show up as smiley faces, add in cut and paste, etc...Especially if these things have been included in the older Droid. Maybe it was something they overlooked when they integrated the new Blur.

I love my X and I am just excited to see what future updates can bring and what this beast is capable of. Lets just hope Moto supports it the way HTC has their phones.

The stuff that HTC is doing to their phones is stuff the X came with from the factory like Swype and 720p recording.

Agreed. Moto packed some features into this thing. Now it's time to remove or repair the parts that didn't work so well. Volume issues, I've had connection issues, my wife's X would stutter and hang, but that may have had something to do with some of the apps she loaded.

Flash will be nice as is the cut and paste. I'm looking forward to those two. Flash is becoming more and more prevalent across the web.

If you watch a lot of video, you may see some improvement. But unless you run benchmarks while on the john, higher MFLOPS and Quadrant scores aren't going to be noticeable.

Check out the bottom of this post by Moto Matt. You might want to exchange hers while you have a chance.

After removing a couple of apps with bad reviews she had loaded and all the moto widgets that sit on the home screens from the factory, the problem went away.

I was having camera problems, but haven't run into them in a while.

I may have to troll that forum as well.

I understand that but it is the point that if HTC can add features like that then we should be able to at least get a couple of what should be simple fixes. Or imagine what features Moto might be able to add in the future. It's just exciting to me, but hey the X is my first Android phone so I am just taking this all in and I think it's great.

I'd like to be able to attach files like pdfs and word documents to an email from within the gmail app without having to download a separate application. Also, I miss those little green android smilies.
