Droid X locking up less with 2.2?

Hi there,

So my Fiance and I upgraded to Droid X's from Droid 1s about 3 weeks ago. While mine has been acting fine due to my aggressive use of task killer and System Panel (please save the pro/con discussion of those for another thread,) hers has not.

She's had to do a battery pull due to it locking up at least 4 times, almost daily this past weekend. Has anyone who's had similar issues and upgraded to the leaked version of 2.2 noticed less lock ups?

I'm concerned because we're coming up on the 30 day mark so I want to make sure it will either be resolved in time. If not, I need to swap it ASAP.

Has she troubleshot the lockups yet? There seems there are a select amount of phones with true lockup issues, but most have been software related (I ran into an issue where ShopSavvy tried really hard to lock my phone). Might want to try a factory reset. If its truly the phone I don't think 2.2 will help you. If its the software you might want to figure out which ones and not use them till they have come out with updates.

Come to think of it, she's using a task killer that isn't ATK, so I'm going to remove that and see if that will help. She's using a pretty watered down phone compared to mine, in other words no custom launcher, nothing really extravagant. So I'll tinker with the software and see what happens.

I specifically noted less 'reboots' required with 2.2 - though by that time I stopped using ATK, so this may have skewed my results.

Well I've read the article and stopped having it close crucial items on my droid so I just have to do the same on hers and see if we have an improvement.

I would start going through apps and see if those are the cause. Very rarely (in my case and others I've talked to) has it been the actual phone its self.
