Droid X - Music Starts Randomly

I am having a very annoying problem with My Droid X. It only seems to happen when the auxiliary input to my car stereo is plugged in. MP3s will randomly start to play and each time I stop it "Party Shuffle" is enabled. I know it's probably not random, but I can't figure our what is causing it. Sometimes it happens when I am pressing buttons, sometimes just on it's own. It is really starting to frustrate me. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Mine started playing music in my pocket at work. When I turned the screen on, there was no media player running but the music was still going. As soon as I dragged the notification bar, the music stopped. It was very weird, and hasn't happened since.

I've had an issue with Slacker ever since the update last week...If I have it on pause any sound notification ( for email text etc) will unpause slacker...very annoying

I had a similar issue with slacker and then i switched to pandora and had no issues. I dont know if they are related but i thought i would give me thoughts on the matter.

I've had this issue randomly, when I plug in headphones. Sometimes the music player will kick in, sometimes Google Listen.

also had this issue when headphones are plugged into the jack. started after plugging/unplugging headphones worked fine for months, now it's a routine problem. i suspect subpar construction of the headphone jack has resulted in false signals from the headset, i.e. the phone is thinking there is a headset with play/rew/fwd/etc controls plugged in, and that those controls are being pressed. there is an app on the market for free called "Headset Blocker" which for me fixes the problem by not allowing any headset input (which i don't use anyway). of course that'd be a problem if you do use such input.

Your phone is programmed to do that automatically(play music upon plugging in headset) . Open music player go to settings >headset options>uncheck resume music upon connect. Now when plug in headset music player wont start ! Hope that helps.

This is exactly what I was thinking, this is most likely the issue..

Sick I just read this and I am using Power Amp. Same thing was happening to me as well. thanks for the information i think this will stop it from happening.

yeah, auto playing is one thing, but mine was randomly skipping to next/previous tracks, starting/stopping, etc. much more consistent with a flakey plug...

I don't have settings options in my media player. When I press the four square button the only options I get are audio effects, party shuffle, and shuffle all. Also, seems like I can't ever shut off the media player. I close it and it always keeps the last song in standby at the bottom.

I had the issue with Slacker radio being on pause and then when the phone rang or a notification, the music from Slacker would play. This is after backing out of the app. I had to force close the program to stop it. I don't like Pandora, so I hope they fix this with slacker.

I had the same issue, I had a warranty claim and they sent me a new phone. What would usually happen to me, I would start espn radio (or some other program), plug the phone into the audio-in in my car, and then after a minute out of nowhere the music player would come on. I believe this is fairly common and they will replace your phone for you.
