Yeah I know guys. My card has been charged though. I'm hoping I'll get a shipping confirmation by Wednesday.

Chad, apparently Alabama is way down the list on getting phones. I ordered on the 6th with ship date of 24th and I haven't heard anything either. Doubt mine will just show up either since it hasn't hit my card yet. They did say mine would be shipped "overnight" so one way or another I should have it by next Wednesday.
I am fortunate in that I don't have any problems with my Storm (2). On the other hand, my office mate got his in 5 days or so and is constantly showing me what it can do. Torture I tell ya!
They charged my card the same day, and I ordered mine on the 12th of this month. They also told me the 31st for delivery.

Verizon charges the card when ordered but the transaction won't show up until the phone is shipped. You'll just see the money missing.
So when you see the actual charge show up on your statement online then you know the phone will ship soon. Probably within 24 hours.

I thought the same thing, until I noticed that my billing cycle ended on the 18th. I ordered it on the 16th. I looked at my summary for the past cycle and it is there. Two days later and still no notice of shipping. It could be a difference that I ordered it online though.
Heck, at this point I'll be happy with seeing the charge on my account. LOL!
Pending a Monday shipment which at this point doesn't look promising, I'll be the first person on any of the boards I've been monitoring to NOT get their phone earlier than the promised ship date.
Unhappy/disappointed? Sure I am. And if it doesn't ship by Tuesday I WILL be pissed and they will certainly get an ear full. It's very simple that if you have some customers waiting well over two weeks while others are getting the same phone within a few days - there is a problem in your order fulfillment operation.

Same boat as you. Ordered the 6th and still have heard NOTHING!! I was billed when i ordered the phone, so they have my money but i have no phone yet. It is upsetting that I've waited so long for the phone, and other ppl just wait a few days, lol. Honestly, by the time i get my phone, a newer and better phone will be out. hahha!!

I ordered my droid on the 8/14 and I just got off the phone with a rep from VZW and was advised the 8/31 dated still stands. She told me that they are still shipping orders from 8/6 and most likely will not ship early due to high demand. I asked about being notify by email of the tracking information and was told that how I did not give the Rep. my email address at the time of the order. I would probably not receive a notification. Not sure what to believe, but waiting here patiently for my FREAKIN DROID.
I ordered mine on the 9th as well, and VZW is holding firm to an 8/25 ship date, which translates to the 27th delivery. Colorado, NE2. I'm a bit frustrated as well after hearing about others getting their phones at least a week before me...
does i mean anything that the charge for the phone has actually posted to my credit card? i expected it to drop off from pending and then come back when it actually was ready to ship. just hoping it means it's coming soon!
The charge for the credit card comes as soon as they get your cc#. I thought I was told that I would be charged when the phone shipped, but that wasn't the case. I ordered on 8/5, charged on 8/6, phone shipped on 8/12 from PA when I live in HI. I got my phone on 8/12 after stalking the FedEx driver. So it took exactly one week to ship my phone to me, and it was the longest 7 days of my life.
I have not been charged. Ordered the 6th and haven't heard anything. The diff maybe because my card is a Debit card. (Yes, I've talked to CS to make sure I actually have an order

Its been exactly a week for me, today(8/15 i ordered). I'm still waiting for the phone, waiting for that magical doorbell ring from the fedex guy. Im hoping it'll be here by Monday. I know the 31st was the date on the website, but hey..a man can dream can't he?
Edit: oh and VZW charged my credit card the very next day after i put in the order.
my card got charged as soon as i placed the order on the 17th but stayed pending until today. usually they drop off if they're not completed within a couple days and then come back when they are. it posted to my card (debit) today. i was just hoping it meant something, but i can't get anything else out of verizon cs other than 'by the 31st.' still hoping for sooner!
As per customer service they are supposed to charge your card at the time of purchase regardless of when it ships.
Has anyone noticed if there's any better luck ordering online vs. a Verizon store vs. a third party store selling Verizon products?
The Cellular Connection store near me has Incredibles in stock right now, but I think I'm going to just tell them to put me on the waiting list for the Droid X. Thing is I don't know if I'll end up waiting longer with them than if I just went ahead and ordered online.

Wow, ordered on the 6th and STILL no nothing. they promised me a ship date of the 18th (which would have the phone be at my house on the 20th), which was then changed to the 20th. Hopefully it gets here Monday or Tuesday.
