DROID X Users: What's Going to be Your Next Phone?

Chances are that my next phone will be a WP7 phone. Nothing against the Android OS and I think I will always remember it fondly unlike my experiment with the Rim OS. But Given a year of updates, Zune Pass/Marketplace, and likely compatible with exchange at work, it would be hard to pass on.

iPhone if it comes to Verizon as an LTE device. Otherwise, the next LTE big screen Droid.
There is no "dark side" to Apple my friends. I've owned the iMac, Mac Pro, and iPods. Mac just does it better all around. As wonderful as my Android is, its still not quite at the level of iPhone other than in the big screen department.

Everyone should get whatever device they feel best suits their needs. Apple does make good stuff. My biggest issue with them is the way they tightly control app development and access that developers have to the iOS (which is non existent). This is why your seeing developers walking away from apple and flocking to android in mass. Today, apple's stuff does a great job in the current marketplace, but that's where RIM was 5 years ago...now they're way behind the curve and stuck there. I think that with the rapid growth and support that android has, in just 1 or 2 years, you'll see the iphone in the same position. Android's strength is Google, and Google has so much money, their focus is not as much on making more, as it is on giving (for free) the people what they want in technology and applications. The money to support it comes from big companies paying for advertising, not from your pocket, which is where Steve Jobs gets his dough.

I love my Zune HD and Zune Pass! But WP7's UI I'm not too much of a fan of, it's just too "blocky" to me.

I'm going to go old school and get a cheap BB Curve that easily slips in and out of my jeans pocket and a BB Playbook.

I will be going iPhone as soon as it is released from Verizon even though I just got my X in August. Having just got an iPad I am convinced the Apple stuff is superior. BTW, the iPad makes the X seem like child's play. Of course, it's not a phone...yet.

How can an OS that doesn't have multitasking be superior to Android?

Will probably get whatever motorola comes out with that replaces the Droid X. Now that I am used to having a phone with a screen as large as the X is, I would never want a smaller screen.

i just came from my bb storm 2 about 2 months now and i do miss bbm but most of my friends have gtalk so it wasnt too bad. Otherwise i dont miss bb at all my x is the best phone ive owned hands down. glad i didnt do incredible cause i love my screen size. I have all the augmented reality apps and keep finding more and more stuff about my x everyday.

The only thing i wish my x had which my next phone will have is a front facing camera. by the time im ready to upgrade hopefully something 2.ghz and front facing is out. Might go HTC as they seem to be closing in on this kinda of phone

Mine won't be another motorola, most likely will be htc

That's surprising. HTC doesn't make hardware as well as Motorola. I had the EVO and there were so many creaks and light leaks. Plus, Motorola makes better screens and phones with better battery life. I would most likely get another Motorola Droid. I am really enjoying my Droid X. The only thing it is missing is the front-facing camera, but even that isn't something that I would use regularly. It would just be nice to have it just in case I wanted to use it.

I honestly don't know yet. Will wait and see what next year brings to the table. I read somewhere that LG is coming out with a super nice phone with a large screen running Android 3.0

The only other phone i would get beside the droid X is an iphone released on Verizon. But now that i have the droid X i wouldn't want to down size in screen. If apple makes a larger screen iphone then yea that would be my only other choice. But i'm staying with the droid X for as long as possible. And when the next Gen X comes out i'm sure it will be even more awesome.
Iphone & Droid X are the best smartphones on the market.

Steve Jobs has made fun of larger screens, so I wouldn't count on that. Then again he ale said that people don't want apps on their phones when the original iPhone came out.

Honestly I can't understand the fascination with the iPhone. It is sorely lancing in features and has its share of product defects. I also don't believe they hype and don't think we will see a Verizon iPhone until at least July, if not 2012.

Moto makes better hardware by far. HTC makes much better software.

^^ this... moto support combined with verizon is aweful. Verizons updates from Blackberry devices to now the droid have always been long awaited, and very disappointing. I came from a tour to a bold 9650 and that is STILL waiting for OS6 to come out. NGTH

I am definitely with some of the others, I really miss my blackberry at times. Even my storm 2 texting speed just crushed what I can do on the dx. Also just the device itself, I felt like the berry was more straight to the point, like I could just make the contact I needed to and get on with it. Although i wireless tether with my dx and wifi iPad, so i couldn't switch back for that reason alone. I do like the apps of android and all but miss the functions of the berry.

Maybe droid pro is good mix of both. Who knows... Won't be getting a new phone for awhile though.
