I had a DX2 a couple phones ago, and now the Maxx. Question to the X owners upgrading to the SG III: do you have concerns going from Moto to Samsung? And why not upgrade to the Maxx or Maxx HD?

Just curious, nothing else....

I didn't like the screen, plus I want a phone that might get updates.

While i didnt pre-order my X, I did get it the week it launched. Unlike alot of people I saw on forums, I lucked out and it never gave me one ounce of trouble. I was planning on keeping the X for as long as it would survive, to make sure any upgrade I got would be lightyears ahead.

Then just before the warranty ran out, the return spring for the back button broke. They sent me a refurb, but it immediately had all manner of issues. (camera wouldnt open, 3g wouldnt always connect, ringer occasionally muted itself, etc). After fighting with it for months, I finally did a factory reset which fixed several of the issues. I havent had many of the issues since, but I just dont trust it anymore. I was scouring AC and several other sites every day looking for info on the Razr HD, but news never came. Shortly after all this the S3 reviews started rolling in from the international versions, so I jumped on the preorder. As much as i like Motorola's build quality (love the feel of a metal phone) I'm not waiting forever for a locked down phone with a fixed battery.

After the preorder, which i was never planning, verizon announced the difinitive date for the shared plans/elimination of grandfathered unlimited, so I cant say im regretting my original X breaking now. Just wish I had a firm date as to when i should look for this thing. I have screen protectors, cases, etc., but no idea when ill have a phone for it all :p

So for those of you who still have a working DX, are you going to sell it (or give it away)? I was going to give my DX to my sister, but she opted for a GS2 at USCellular with a new 2-year contract and a cheaper data plan. I might sell it to a friend, not looking to squeeze every penny out of it, just a price that is fair to both of us. I'm thinking $75 including a Seido case, car dock, & media dock. I'll probably be keeping the 16GB SD card and replacing it with an 8GB I have lying around. The phone is in good shape, except for the headphone jack being loose. It still works, just crackles and pops so I use Bluetooth. Really works pretty good still, camera lags a bit and so does the unlock screen at times, but I wouldn't be surprised if a factory data reset helps with some of that. Maybe I should ask $100? I'm seeing them for $100 with no accessories on Ebay. Like I said, just looking for a fair price for both of us. And if she doesn't want it, it won't hurt my feelings to keep it around, I've grown quite attached to it and could still use it as a GPS/mp3 player for running and biking and not risk dropping my SGIII.

If the new phone supports microSD (most phones do) you should be golden.

So, since the DX doesn't use a SIM card, can we assume VZW will include one when they send the SIII's? Or will we have to request one specifically from VZW? Some Info points to shipments coming directly from Sammy, so I've been wondering about the SIM card. Thoughts?

My last two Verizon LTE phones came with a SIM card in the box. If for some reason you need one, you can get one from a corporate store or ask Verizon to send you one.

I'm upgrading my DX also. I've never had a single problem with it.
But I figure now's the time to lock in unlimited while I still can.
I sure hope the S3 is as trustworthy a phone.

I tried to sell my x a couple months ago on Craigslist and the most I could get anyone to pay was about $80 and that was with an extended battery, original battery, and 3 cases. My phone was in very good shape absolutely nothing wrong with it. I ended up keeping it for a couple months and just barely upgraded to the bionic.

Bionic'd from my tapatalk.

I just "pre-sold" the DX, car dock, media dock, and rugged case to a friend for $75. She accepted so readily I'm thinking I should've asked $100! :) Now she'll have to be patient while we both wait for my SGIII.

I have the DX right now and was goingt to wait until the last minute to upgrade before i lost my Unlimited data. Then a few days ago, somehow i broke some of the pixels in the screen while it was in my pocket, and now they are spreading so I pre-ordered the GS3.

My first smart phone was the Moto Q, and then when I got home from overseas I got the BB Storm and it was horrible, (screen stopped working and would cut in and out all the time, as soon as I could upgrade again I bought the DX. It has been a great phone, other then it really likes to reboot all the time since the last update.

I really hope this ships early though as it is getting harder and harder to read things because the liquid in my screen seems to spread more and more everyday.
