Drop calls on Nexus 5 ATT!

Unfortunately- not solved in NYC that I can tell. Same problem.

I have a case from AT&T tech support, they say case will be resolved today. Using history as a guide to future performance- I doubt they will actually resolve it. Unfortunately.

Dropped calls today in Central Jersey, Staten Island & Brooklyn

It seems to be fixed today in Manhattan. I just successfully made a call without getting disconnected.

Brooklyn! So far so good. This has been going on for over a month....thrilled and surprised that it was on the AT&T side and not the Lollipop side. I can imagine the confusion and correlation speculation if this would have been fixed after Lollipop was installed!

However - parts of eastern Queens and Nassau - still dropping.

Still location specific. The further from manhattan you go the more chance of calls dropping. Suck it suburbs....

Holy Guacamole. It's fixed for me, too. LTE data on, calls connect and phone drops back to "H" (HSPA+) without dropping me. Nexus 5, AT&T, NYC

I was around midtown Manhattan all of yesterday and out at JFK airport, before catching a flight.

In fact I didn't even realize that it was working as it is natural to use a phone to make phone calls and only after realizing that I had successfully made calls, did I realize the issue was fixed.

NYC Washington Heights to Brooklyn Heights. Calls no longer drop, problem still gone, calls working.

Thanks. Finally started working for me today. Had no problems making and receiving calls...just in time for the Lollipop update.

It took a long time, but I reported the problem to googleplay support. I experience the problem in White Plains. After receiving a reply, I asked about a plan to fix it, and received:

To answer that, the hardware within the Nexus 5 isn't 100% compatible with VoLTE. Since this is a hardware restriction, there isn't currently a development plan through Google or LG for getting this compatibility issue fixed up. The Nexus 5 is not currently being manufactured, so development has pretty much stopped for hardware limitations.

Although I'm not pleased with the response, I am impressed with the professionalism of the two people I interacted with on googleplay support.
