Dropped Calls!

Hello, I have been a loyal customer to VZW for over 10 years, and up until about 8 months ago my phone started dropping calls constantly, I can't even talk on the phone for more than 15 minutes without it dropping the call, and this is with 4-5 bars of signal!
We upgraded 3 out of 4 devices 5 months ago, I have the Galaxy S4 thinking it would not drop calls but it still does.
I have contacted them via live chat, and they suggest a network extender, for 250$! don't you think that is a bit much? seeing how this is there service that is messing up, I never had problems up until recently so what changed? Also 3-5 years back when we were in the process of upgrading devices, they suggested I should cancel my house phone to help save money and that it wouldnt be a big deal because they had the most reliable coverage in the nation, I believed them and did indeed cancel it, It worked out fine up until recently when now I can't even make calls with full signal, and this doesnt just happen in my house. what should i do?!! I do not want to shell out 250$ more....please help

Check your voice signal strength with "advanced signal status" from the play store.

It is okay. Not good but not bad. Something else is wrong then, something is certainly amiss, my guess is a tower issue since you have multiple phones with the same problem.

I would keep calling back, having many dropped calls especially when it was working before is unacceptable. Also, check the coverage map.

Coverage shows good, they claim it's my house or something but I had absolutely no problems up until recently and the only thing they tell me is to buy the network extender, I don't feel like I should shell out more money to them when it's their problem...

Back when I was with Sprint I called and complained enough times that they just sent me a free one! With the understanding that I would have to give it back if I ever moved or cut loose from their service. If you call Verizon enough times they might do the same. But be worth Google researching.

Do you have issues outside your home like in your front or back yard?

Yes I do, it happens inside and outside of my house, and it's not even like my house is surrounded by trees

Oh, then call them and complain again. They don't guarantee service indoors but if outdoors and within their coverage map, then you should not be frequently getting dropped calls.

I think the Verizon network is going through some growing pains just like AT&T did when they first got the iPhone. My region has had 4G service for about two years now and for the past several months we have no data at all on the weekends where I live. I even went to the Corporate Store and they said, "you and everyone else."
No data at all during business hours on the weekend and during rush hour after work during the week.

My home office is in a semi-basement, and until that network extender I had virtually no signal there. I had to explain to Verizon over and over that, because of my work, I had to have a signal in the office, and, at the end, they gave me that extender for free. At this point, I have a perfect signal strength a few feet from the extender, but 1 1/2 floors above it still drops significantly.
