Naked 3 day old phone slipped out of my pocket almost at the top of this rollercoaster (called Wicked)...

Forgive the dark pick, I can take more with my SLR if anyone is interested, what was amazing is that it landed on rock/gravel and heavily did damage to front top corner which was bent really far out, but the screen did not crack. Waited until the ride closed to retrieve it, could still ring and light up the screen, but the screen had nothing but colored lines and lost the upper back plate with damage to the inside, front camera lense gone...

I cringe seeing that, glad you got a quick replacement. Wish Canada had a insurance plan as awesome as that. I know Rogers does but I don't think they'd let us exchange a phone after that. I could just see my precious Z10 going into pieces.

Man, is it a hobby now to throw your phone from a roller coaster!?! I kid, i kid.

This would make me cry. Seriously. Pretty cool the glass didn't break, though!

I just got my daughter an HTC One. Four days after getting it - a couple of days before her case was delivered - it slipped from her hands at about face level and fell. Screen cracked in several places. We have insurance but she decided the $200 deductible was worse than the cracks were so she's using it as is.

Man... that would be an Otterbox commercial that would drive sales THROUGH THE ROOF if it had survived that fall with one of their cases on it. :-) (Oh, and yes, I saw "naked" and realize it didn't have a case)

I know deductibles sucked don't they. I've paid numerous deductibles on replacing my family phones in the past. I started buying my phones at BestBuy. The geeksquad protection cost less than sprint insurance and no deductible. I'm on my 4th note 2 since November, thankfully no deductibles.

Damn, hard luck at dropping it but at least you've got a quick replacement. My One's not been with me a month yet, going on holiday in a week and tempted to take a huge bag of cotton wool with me after seeing this :p

Check out worth ave insurance group. Was turned on to them In this forum after I posted about my daughter cracking her one screen. $50 deductible!

Dang. I know accidents happen, but 4 in 6 months? Are these job related or are you that clumsy? :-)

Wow! Seriously.. is dropping your htc one a trend now? You're the 2nd I've read about their phone dropping from a roller coaster and not shattering the screen. Guess goes to show how indestructible this thing is. :D

As a parent, this is what I call a "lesson". Glad she decided to hold on to the $200. Every kid should have to keep a cracked-screen phone for awhile. It gives them some perspective.

All the cool kids make sure their phone reaches terminal velocity at least once.

Yeah my son has the app that runs his phone with a fake cracked screen all the time because it's . The protruding sharp aluminum and no crack...not as cool to him.
