Dropped Incredible, Need Advice.

Just a few minutes ago I dropped my beloved Incredible in my driveway. Of course, it landed face down and as a result I have a crack that spans the entire width of the phone. THANKFULLY, the crack is above the screen across the Verizon logo. I have insurance but I don't want to risk getting a replacement with the LCD screen as I was lucky enough to get the AMOLED model on release day.
Anyone know where I can get some replacement glass? I'm not afraid to disassemble things and replace as necessary if it means I can keep my screen.
Any help is appreciated!!!!

Wow, that sucks man, good luck with the repairs, I hope you can get it working again

The good news is that the phone is still fully functional and the touch portion seems to be fine. Just hate looking at that stupid crack.

I'd just replace it rather than void my warranty... but that's just me. Don't misunderstand me, I love to void a good warranty every now and again... but not on my nice new Droid that I'll have for the foreseeable future.

Even if you replace it, I'd guess you'd still get one with an AMOLED display, likely a return, since that's what you originally had.

Glass repair won't really work on Gorilla Glass and usually won't be able to hide a scratch of that size...

As for replacing the glass on your own, just remember that although you have insurance now, you won't have it, or a warranty, after you replace it. That may be fine in some cases, but the phone is still new and REALLY expensive if something breaks on it that isn't user serviceable... Just keep that in mind....

Very good advice!

Put in for the insurance and get on the list so you can get it replaced as soon as possible. Suffer with the crack until then; lucky for you it still works!

If you have the insurance, replace it. You could make an annoyance into a really big problem. It's not worth it.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I started a claim and was advised I can finish it when the incredibles get back in stock. I'm wondering if I bring it down to the local VZW store at get a Droid X. Wishful thinking. :p

If I cracked my screen ,,, and as much as I wouldnt want to possibly loose the amoled screen I would for a cracked screen. Im thinking the new screen will not be a whole lots of noticeable difference if you dont stare at it too much.

Probably the biggest difference I am thinking you would notice is that if its not amoled screen you could see it better outside . ;)
