Dropped my pixel 2 xl and scratched my screen

I got a Pure Gear HD Tempered Glass screen protector for my Pixel 2 the other day. The company offers a $100 payment toward repairing a cracked screen, which prompted me to forego the insurance on the phone, combined with a Google Earth Live Case.

How is the tempered glass? Any halos? I bought some cheap ones off of Amazon and they seem to be ok.

No case, I'm waiting for crashguard bumper. But it is a slippery phone.
