Dropping your Droid for the Nexus One?

I'm not a fan of trackballs. I've had issues with them during my blackberry days and don't want to go back to that.

I'm still on the fence about this. I love my droid but would live to add a nexus to the line up also.

The biggest thing keeping me totally content with my Droid is the physical keyboard. I know some people hate it, but its a life saver for me and all the e-mailing I do everyday.
The physical keyboard inspires strong emotions, doesn't it? It's easily the worst feature of the Droid in my experience, based on its extremely poor ergonomics.

I'm waiting for flash and 2.1... then I'm going to root and enjoy the hell out of this phone..In two years thee phones we know now will be obsolete...Then, I will get something that is king **** again...

I don't see myself dropping the Moto Droid for the N1, maybe the N2 when/if that ever comes out, especially if it has a keyboard. I'm not ready to give up on keyboards yet, especially when I just came from a BlackBerry.

Agreed! Trackballs are awful.

I cannot get rid of my Droid cause it has taken over my whole body and transformed me ;).........so getting that Nexus is OUT....besides that its priced out of my allowance (frigging wives:p).....

The root will probably get patched in this next update. The update will drop before Flash. So you need to change up your plan.:D

I know there is a chance that vzw will block or root access with the update, but nexus one had already been rooted once with 2.1..I'm sure it will all be worked out in due time.;)

I am loving my Droid but I always love new gadgets too so I will just have to wait and see. I don't want to root my phone so I can't wait to get the 2.1 update on here though.

The 2.1 OS will be out any day now and flash will be coming to the Droid also; I am noot compelled in the slightest to purchase the Nexus One. Refuse to chase technology when when what I have is so good. Droid!

I'm happy with my Droid. Don't get me wrong, Nexus One looks awesome, and I do like the idea of a 1Ghz processor and 512MB of Memory vs. 256MB on my Droid, but I gotta have a physical keyboard. I can't type on the virtual ones.

Having just left Sprint for Verizon and getting the Droid, I'll be sticking with this phone most likely for the duration of my 2 year contract. I know it'll be hard in the next 2 years of phone releases. Unless I have the money to buy a phone outright, I'll enjoy the Droid.

did you hear about that new phone coming out in august? omg! its supposed to be wayyyy better than the nexus one. and cheaper. lighter, faster, funnier,easier...etc. i cant wait. i heard its going to be called ....... lol

LOL, it will come. Newer, better, lighter, faster, bigger and more memory will always be months away.

Yep, it never ends. I think a lot of us have learned that when you are ready for an upgrade just go with whatever you like the most at the time, even if it's the best phone on the market at the time. There's nothing you can do to prevent another faster, better, more bad ass phone from coming out 3, 4, or 6 months after you got your brand new phone.

My one hope for Motorola is that they continue to innovate on the hardware side, and not do what they did with the RAZR and start releasing the same phone in 20 different colors, milking it for everything they could.
