DTMF tones not working!!

So have the Z Fold 2 unlocked from Samsung... used to having a carrier issued device (Verizon); this time tried the unlocked version and find there are definitely differences. Unfortunately, this is an important difference: cannot find the setting for long DTMF tones or any tones!
Find out the carriers have this option under the Call app menu settings. It is not in this phone's menu and I've tried umpteen different configurations under sounds etc to be able to get tones while ON a call as the numbers pressed elicit only a mono tone and need to check voicemail Etc.
Anyone have thoughts and/or solutions? It would be greatly appreciated as this is frustrating!

OK, found the solution by accident... as there is no solution!!
DTMF tones just work on the unlocked phones, even though not heard when sent. Finally tried on a bank app and sure enough: just worked.
Operator error before as i had the wrong code digits. Whew!
