I have the S3 and so does my partner. Her connection on the mail route is hit and miss but texts go through when a call will not so we've been doing that.
However, I often get her texts at least twice. I switched to Handcent but still got doubles. Not always, but probably about a third of them I get twice. She rarely got mine twice.
Then starting two days ago, she's now getting each of my texts three times. Since she's working, she doesn't check texts but at certain spots where she is off the road. But when she hears me send text after text after text, she thinks something is up and will check then. It's not safe and it's certainly not convenient.
Is this a tower thing or a phone hiccup? We do the usual hard boot once a week and I clear the cache for both phones once a month. Mine has a lot of apps and stuff but she's still rather "vanilla". I don't think it is Handcent since I've been using it for a while now. She still uses the standard messaging.
