you can use root explorer , which to me is easier than doing the ADB thing . Another thing that can help with this problem , is to go into titanium backup (pro) or (donate) and simply freeze the messenging app , or freeze text messages 2.2 either one wrks , just depends on if you want to use the message app from the ROM or the Stock message app. I personally chose to Freeze the text messages 2.2 (stock app) and use the Gala X messages. it has the black background . looks sweet. But freezing is easier to reverse also , just click one button.

This is because you have press backup button when google ask you whether you wanted to backup your contacts... To solve this.. Go to "contacts".. Open any contact no that have "g" beside the contact... Go to "linked contacts".. Delete all contacts that have "g" beside it.. After that press backwards button.. You will see many duplicated phone no... Again, delete all contacts which have "g" beside it... I'm afraid you going to do the same thing to all other contacts..
