I get it but seems pointless like drop test.

It's glass it will break.

I've had 400+ phones since 2004 and I've only broken 1 phone, Huawei P30 Pro from a drop, it fell off top of my vehicle as I was detailing the wheels. It didn't have a screen protector. I had other phones falling from chest high like my Samsung S7 edge without a case or screen protector and NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH.

Sometimes it's just luck.

Even scratching the display. I damaged only 2 while in my pocket.
