Dx/D2 w/ Ford Mobile Ease BT

I have a DX (wife has a D2) that we use in separate cars both having Fords Mobile Ease BT kit in 2006 Ford Explorers - yes we both have Ford Explorers with the Ford BT kit.

When connected to the BT kit, about every 40 seconds or so it 'craps out' and sounds like you are underwater or something and you can't understand the conversation.

Anyone else having this problem?

I have a DX with Froyo, and she has a D2 with Froyo.

Any help would be appreciated.
