Dx freezes up!!!

So just 3 days ago my fone started freezing up, screen becomes complitely unresponsive while I am doing pretty much anything (checking email, facebook, browsing, etc.). Sometimes I can hold the top button and turn it off, other times while the "power off" screen pops up I cant select it and end up pulling the battery. Last night I noticed that while I was charging the fone in the multimedia dock the time was wrong, thats when I realized the fone is frozen, rebooted and put it back in the dock. It still froze in the middle of the night resulting the alarm clock to not go off. I am using Launcher Pro + and the only new app the I got prior to the problem was Locker Widget, which I disabled to see if that was the cause, but no luck. I do have plenty of apps but I have had them for a while and never had such problem before. One more thing, when the fone freezes I try to lock/unlock it and sometimes after unlock what ever program or app i was using would give me the option to "force close or wait" but force closing does not resolve the freezing of the fone issue, force close pops up again. Ohh yea I have been using NFL Network app more than ussual for obvious reasons, dunno if that has somthing to do with it.
Well, I think I covered everything. Any suggestions or help would be highly apreciated, as its getting very frastrating and imposible to use my fone.

Edit: One more thing, just recently the sync icon in my notification bar appeared and I dont know how to get rid of it or does it have anything to do with my problem.

same thing happened to me today i was reading the engadget app and the screen became completely irresponsive. the buttons didnt works or screen so i clicked power button and it shut the screen but then could not rewake it. so had to do a battery pull my first one. i too am using launcher pro+ yet i am not rooted. have not installed any new apps in last 2 days and reboot the phone every morning.

You can add me to the list. I have the exact same problem. Its either launcher pro or widget locker. Im going to try ADW and see how that works out.

My D1 had all those symptoms, freezing, lagging, totally unresponsive screens to touch, soft keys and power button.

It turned out to be a corrupted memory card. It could also be a bad file on the card. You can test by either taking the card out, or putting another card in the phone.

I ended up backing up then reformatting the card. Been smooth sailing ever since.

i've been running launcher pro since day 1, did plus when it was available and have no screen response issues

what happens when you reformat your card. do i have to back up files on it, will it earase everything.

Yes, I backed up my card to the computer, reformatted the card, then transferred only "essential" folders like Backups, DCIM, Ringtones, Nandroid, etc. back to the card after the reformat.

If it was a corrupted file system, then putting everything back will be ok. If it was a bad file, then obviously, you want to find out which file was bad and leave it off your reformatted card.

Yes it will erase everything, usb to pc and copy and paste your files to a folder somewhere you can find easy,(desktop) then reformat. Before that though check out running applications and side how the ram is doing there.

Thanx Guys!, Imma try that, cuz the freezing is getting annoying.

BTW. I also noticed today that when I try to add a new event to the calendar after pressing save the button lightes up red but nothing happens for a while and the screen is unresponsive, it does come alive after a minute or so but the event is not saved.

Quick way to test is just take your SD card out. If the problems go away, then it's the card.

I downloaded widget locker to my DX and loved all you could do wth it but I too noticed it was causing my dx to freeze and reboot. I unistalled and since it was within 24 hours I atumotcially got refunded by the market. I loved the widget locker app but I dont think it loves the dx.

Just did that and the problem is STILL there. Looks like Imma spend my weekend at VZW store

Sounds like you should uninstall widget locker.

Or remove launcher pro. I switched to ADW and my phone hasn't froze up or force closed. *knocks on wood* No issues with widget locker either.

I have LP+ on my dx and it's not causing any issues with I don't have widget locker tho

I think its when both are used. Another issue I had was waiting about 4 min after the phone booted before I could do anything. I love LP, especially the widgets but I can't take the lag and errors.

well it only happened once to me and has yet to happen again so im not too concerned the only files on my card is music and pics and i have already checked them all if it happens again ill worry but the phone runs smooth as silk except that one time. i might look into adw launcher just for fun but so far no more issues and it was the only time it happened.

I ran LP and WL together. I had problems with LP. I uninstalled LP. No more problems. I now use zeam launcher. Great light weight Launcher.

any apps that scan for corrupted files?
so i dont have to do random trials since this isnt a regular issue for me i just reformatted my card and retransfered my files.
