DX is no longer dialing area code

For some reason, today I went to dial a phone number with the 111-1111 format and it put the 617 (MA) area code in the number instead of my local area code like it always has.

Do you know if there is a setting where this can be fixed to automatically dial my area code that is my local area code?

I just can't seem to figure this out. I'm messing around with some stuff and if I figure it out I'll post results.

I tried updating the roaming capabilities. Didn't work. Still dialing 617 area code.

It is probably network related vs. phone related.

It would actually appear to be ROOT related - (i.e., it is happening to ROOTED DROID Xs) from reading other posts on the net. I have the EXACT SAME THING happening.
