this isn't a feud post or anything.. im just wondering if anyone here is making the switch from a DX to a D2?

if so, please say why or the reasons why you are making the switch

i recently bought the DX and still under that 90 day manufacturer warranty and i like shiny things ^_^ so convince me

I'm thinking about it. The reason I would make the switch is strictly a size thing. I like almost everything about the X. I loved the original droid when I had it so I'm sure the newest one will be even better. If I decide I still like the X better the wife gets an upgrade to her OG Droid. She will be stoked I'm sure.

My man, you are speaking my language! I had a Dx but it broke 15 days in and a replacement wouldn't have arrived until late August so I went with the BB Bold (I had a Tour prior to the Dx). I'm thinking seriously hard about switching to the D2 as I am still in my 30 days (which is fast approaching).

C'mon brother, let's jump ship!!

ahh! i dont know what to do!

Keeping my DX with it's 8mp camera and HD recording...and that amazing screen.

I am sitting here looking at my DX that I had since launch, and waiting for FEDEX to drop off my D2.
I am lucky I work in a business where we have so many lines that getting the D2 is or BB or whatever, is very easy.
The main reason I am going to the D2 is the size and keyboard. DX is a great phone, so no one needs to flame me on that, but I just can't get past the size of the darn thing.
Also, I came from the BB world (like many others) and I like the keyboard. Like swype, looking forward to blind type etc, but for longer business related emails, IMO nothing beats the keyboard.

I am also strangely curious as to why the D2 hasn't been hyped more. The only thing I can think of is because Motorola is already rolling along when it comes to Verizon Wireless...so the loyal Droid users who have the D1 will eventually migrate to the D2 I would think.

thats probably the reason why strangely there are virtually no dx users jumping ship

I am on the same boat with you guys! MY NIB DX replacement wont ship till late august and looking at the D2 is making me wonder....but i guess i will wait. Good things come to those who wait, i guess.

Same here having to get a replacement DX and there telling me i can get a brand new in 2 days but it will come in a preowned packaging im not buying this and the D2 did look good and fast.

My friend and I both have Droid Xs and we love it. But his girlfriend is getting the Droid 2 because she'd rather have a physical keyboard, even after using a touchscreen on her old Blackberry Storm. You can't go wrong with either phone; it's all about personal preference. Choice is good

Oh heck no, the X rocks!!! I used to think the D1 was awesome, I even convinced my SIL to get it. But now when I look at that tiny phone there is no way I could go to a smaller screened phone. NTM the D2 does actually weigh MORE then the X, also bulkier with the slide out keyboard!
