e mail help

I have setup e mail correct,the incoming setting is pop.earthlink.net port 110 and the outgoing setiing smtupath.earthlink.net port 587 when I hit next to finish setup it give me warning message it said we cannot verify the account and the server is not respond on outgoing setting login require authencation it check, I can get my e mail but I can't send.
 
Outgoing is smtpauth.earthlink.net port 587
Not sure if you just transposed the letters in that server name for this post or if it's that way on your phone too. Should start with "smtp".
