E-Mail Notification Annoyance

Is there a way I can alter my e-mail notifications so that it only occurs once for each e-mail? If so, how? Currently whenever I receive an e-mail, the sound (and presumably the vibrate) notifications occur every X minutes until I read the email (or press the button on top of the Droid).

I want it to vibrate and make the sound notification for every e-mail, but I only want it to do it once.

I have searched on-line for about an hour but cannot find a solution.

Thanks.

I have never seen this happen at all.
What apps do you installed?

Just using the stock e-mail app for this pop3 account. I used Touchdown for my Business e-mail, but the problem is strictly with my personal e-mail using the stock e-mail client

I'm thinking another app is doing this though.
Can you type out a list of your installed apps? Could help us determine if it's a software error or an app causing this.

it did this from day 1 before I installed any apps.....but heere is what i have installed:

Handcent
Touchdown
Twidroid
dolphin
advanced task manager
smart keyboard

Ok thanks.
Try uninstalling the task manager and see how that goes. Somewhere around here there's a thread on task managers. They seem to screw up a lot of things. Give that a try for about a day and see if there are any differences.

Well, I would have to say look into the settings of the email application. I don't have any pop3 accounts installed on mine (Because all I use is Gmail) I would guess that it's in the notification settings of the Email application.

Cannot find any options that control how many alerts are sent. I see the option to turn off audible notification, as well as turning off vibrate and in the notification bar, but nothing on recurring notifications until e-mail is read or buttom on top of phone is pushed.

I have the same problem as well but with my email and text alerts. I never had this happen until I received a replacement Droid. Its normally about every 5 min or so (just a guess).

I wish I had this problem. I want reminder alerts for email but cannot find out how to make it happen.

I've never really noticed but it seems that I have received an email and got the notification and didn't check it.....then a few minutes later I got another notification. thinking I had 2 emails. When I looked I only had 1 email. Not really a big deal for me.....at least the phone is reminding me to check my emails. :-)

What I've noticed is that it only does it so many times and it seems its only with my Gmail not my other email. Could be totally wrong on this. I haven't tested it yet.
