Earbuds shorting out?

Whenever I put in my earphones and headsets into my tablet, they break in 2 weeks or 4. The left side stops working then the right side stops in about a day. I've already gone through 10 headphones no matter if it's 20$ or 1$ it'll break.
What's wrong with it?

I don't know why your ear buds are shorting out but... buy some bluetooth headphones. I know a few people who use them. You can also talk with them as they have a built in microphone. Just a thought.
