Early S6 users, how's your battery life?

Battery life has been better today. It drains like no tomorrow on mobile data giving me about 4-5 hours a charge. Too bad I don't have unlimited WiFi because if I did I would permanently stay on it with figures like this

I'm getting to a desperate point. I've now factory reset my phone. Put a black background picture and installed Nova launcher. At this point I'm willing to try anything to improve battery life. Thank goodness I still have my iPhone six plus. The other day on my S6 I had the results I posted earlier. Today it was 9 hours total for four hours of SoT

That's not bad actually 4 hours of sot

I say this is great battery life and always using mobile data especially still having 34 percent left. Plus it only being a 2600 mah battery.

I hade some teriible batterylife too after 2 days of use and today I suspect that mine phones doesnt go to deep sleep. Installed CpuSpy to check deep sleep time and I was right. Deep sleep wasnt event present at all and it always rans at 400Mhz while idling. When the phone doesnt goes into deep sleep, it will drain 8% within 3H, when the phone isnt in use and that way too much.
Before:
around 1 day and 4H SoT is the best. Others just 2-3H SoT.

After rebooted into recovery mode and wipe cache and now mine phone does goes into deep sleep. 1H 30M and it just drains 1% when phone isnt in use with screen off.

Mine tips, is always check with cpyspy and see if phone is goes into deep sleep while not in use. Install new apps, or update might prevent deep sleep and bad written apps or new bugs. Factory reset wont help, since u need to reinstall all apps and configure settings. By that time is done and some bad written apps or process might prevent phone goes into deep sleep.
So always check after all is setup, too see deep sleep is working and boot into recovery and wipe cache if it doesnt goes into deep sleep.

Steps:
1. Install CpuSpy
2. Open app and reset time.
3. Turn screen off and wait for 1-5 min.
4. Unlock screen, open cpuspy and see deep sleep time.

It should show same amount of time u waited when the screen was off.

Now Im gonna wait for few days and see if battery life has improved after deep sleep is working.

Yeah but since I've had my s6 my phone hasn't died while at work or anything. Only at home when I fail to charge it. After a 8 hour shift I'm normally on 75 at the least

I'm on an AT&T S6 Edge and battery life has actually been excellent since the latest update that was pushed out a few weeks ago. I usually unplug around 8am every morning and reach 16% around 8pm. What I don't like is that from 16% to 1% the battery drains really fast. Which is really weird tbh.

AT&T here. This is just garbage battery life. I think this is going up on eBay tomorrow.

My S6 is not from Tmobile cause im in the Philippines, but let me share my experience with its battery life.

Finished charging my phone at 5 in the morning, after which I started playing music in a loud speaker until 630am.
From 7am - 9am I used to browse FB, while playing music in headset (full volume) and downloading music and apps all at the same time.

From 9 - 10 AM i guess i have only received 1 phone call that lasted for 5 minutes. By this time my battery is down to 75%.

10am - 12 noon, nostrop fb browsing while paying music on a headset, set to default volume. Stopped browsing by 12noon until 2pm (btw i received 2 phone calls of 5 minutes each during this interval)

at 2pm - 4:30pm non stop browsing while playing music and tethering my partner's Samsung Galaxy S4. around this time my battery is down to 30%.

i reached home 5pm and played music again with a loud speaker until around 6pm when my phone reminded me that I need to charge it this time the battery was on 15%.

To sum it up, with heavy usage, the battery lasted for about 14 hours. For normal usage this can take up to I guess 2 days..

Try telling someone that when they aren't coming from the six plus with only a 350mah bigger battery. 5 hours per charge on the s6 vs currently 7 hours usage standby 1 day 14 hours since my last charge on the six plus with 37% battery remaining. I'm seriously considering switching my sim card back over to my iPhone six plus

Google location services would chug my battery down to 60ish percent by lunch, despite MAYBE 10-20 mins screen on time. Now that I only toggle it on when I need, I can make it 12-14 hours no problem. Yes, I tweaked screen brightness, disable apps, and run in power saving mode, but those still don't come close to the juice Google location services sucks up like a sponge.

I'm giving Samsung a pass on the battery issue. Mountain View needs to tell Google now to lay off the battery brew.

I feel like Chevy Chase in the desert scene in The Three Amigos where his canteen is full of water. The other 2 guys are dieing of thirst and Chevy chugs his water and tosses the half-full canteen onto the desert floor and then dabs a bit of lip balm on.

I have turned nothing off, disabled nothing, updated everything and use the device everywhere, including as a GPS and music source. Zero battery issues, including making it from Friday afternoon until Sunday before returning it to the charger.

Remember that S6/S6 Edge are having 1440x2560 resolution display and it will make a big impact on battery life. Without power saving mode on and 4H SoT is already great battery life.
Another thing is I still cant figure out how peoples can have 7H SoT?

Im current have 19H 43M and 4H SoT, still got 43% battery left. But I wonder if its correct. Since last night at 3am had over 1H SoT and charged my phone at break time for around 30min at 38% battery left, to 88% before I stopped charged it and wonder if it included the totalt time + SoT before I charged the phone.
Since when I checked the battery life at 6.30am and it said around 3H 40m SoT and that is not possible. 3.20am - 6.30am is just 3H 10m and I never had the screen on all the time. Even I had , than it would be only 3H 10M SoT and not 3H 40m. Something is fishy here.

Cell standby keeps taking a big chunk :/

Battery life is going well for me so far, getting over 4 hours screen time and getting me through the day. I have set up the phone the same way I do for each a druid phone, I am often changing every 3 to 4 weeks due to job. This so far is on par if not better than M9 for battery.

I had pretty bad battery life at first. There were a few things I tried that seemed to help:

Change radio setting from Global to LTE.
Let the phone die, then use the fast charger to give it a full 8 hour charge.
Set brightness manually.

I have noticed the that if I leave the brightness on auto and go outside for a walk with the pup, battery drain is significantly higher, especially when connected to my bluetooth headset.

Does changing it to LTE change anything as opposed to being on global?

Alright so I've only had my phone for a week, so take that into consideration as you read. I wake up at 5:30 and go to work, using Bluetooth to listen to pocket casts in my car. When I get to work, I usually sit in my class and read some articles while I eat breakfast (oh yeah I'm a teacher). My phone is usually at about 90%

Here is where I think my day night differ from some of you, when I'm working, my phone stays in my pocket. I really don't interact with my phone until my prep period and lunch. There are times I use my phone for the camra or to help students with some research. Other times, I check work and my grad school email, and of course.texts and calls from my wife. I then drive home, again with my Bluetooth on and pocket casts.

The lowest I've ever had my phone by the time I get home is 40%. That was today actually, and I was streaming i/o on the way to and from work. Take from that what you will.
