Early sprint upgrade

Well for me and my org. evo this is what i did.

A lot of times in the day (when not using my phone) i would simply turn off my data. My phone was still able to be used as a phone and when i needed net, nav or what not i'd simply turn it back on.

Doing this i am able to get 36hrs out of my org evo easy.

The thing that worries me the most is how i wont be able to pull the battery to reset my phone every once in a while. ie flashing, modding. Its not holding me from getting this phone though :)

The solution for the battery pull is holding the power button for 10 seconds. Works the same way as tablets that do not have removable batteries

Called yesterday, was uneligible to buy out my contract, I wonder if there is a way around this, $600 is pretty steep for a new toy

I don't know what the qualifications are for being able to buy up. I have 4 lines with Sprint so that might be why I qualify

the Rep pretty much broke it down to customers that are consistent with bill payments, I unfortunately payed late quite a few times. Guess Sprint doesn't think I'm loyal enough

She even said to find someone I can add a line to the account with, get the EVO LTE and swap devices so I can get that one, but finding someone to take my 3D and not seem like there getting the short end of the stick, kinda difficult

I think he's trying to find reasons NOT to buy the phone. They focus on the problem more than the solution

Not true at all... never heard of the zagg. I always thought the portable charging units were much bigger. That is one issue that has now been solved. Thanks guys....:D

Just got off the phone with sprint and can buyout my contract for a mere $45. I just don't know if I can push past the non removable battery.

I thought they had a higher capacity battery replacement for the One X.. That gave easy replacement instructions. Makes it sound like it will not only be easy to replace the battery your self, but with readily available options. I'm not really worried about it though. I'm a gambler (though, that doesn't help your situation...)

It was really easy to get both my lines done. I hut *2, for to the option for phone cancellation then mentioned the upgrade buyup program. My wife was $75 (due at the end of this year) and mine was $115 (due June of next year).

Took about 24 hours for the upgrade to show up.

My upgrade is Sept. 1, i can upgrade for $45 buying out my contract. I was told any Sprint Corp. store can do it. A 3rd party takes up to 24 hrs. i can keep my current #. I was told this by a Rep. in Dan's Office. Try contacting his office for assistance. I've been dealing with CS Reps for 2 weeks, they all tell me different stories.

So, I called them and they moved my upgrade up to the 18th. Since my upgrade isn't actually showing in the system until then, am I able to pre-order this phone at best buy?

It may come down to the rep handling your call rather than any set policy. I called *2 and got my upgrade changed from Jan 2013 to - well, last month, now. Took me 30-45 minutes of reminding them how much I'd paid Sprint over the last dozen years, all I wanted was the upgrade I would've gotten if they hadn't canceled gold premier. Eventually they offered me a $105 buy-up; I said no and politely stuck to my story line. Then supervisor said okay, if I'd accept the $105 buy-up they'd give me a $100 credit at the same time. In other words I'd get the upgrade, which took around 15 minutes to show up on my account, for $5.

That worked for me. :)

That's an interesting list and fits with what I was told. As I said in one of my posts, the reps I talked to at Sprint initially said that the buy-up was not available in my market, but that the promotion is changing each month. Later a "retentions" rep said that she had no clue as to how "Marketing" had come up with who and where the program was being offered to and it did not seem to make any sense to her. After I got to the right person though, (which did take about 40 min or so) they were able to give it to me.

I've been known to forget a bill here and there and not remember until I realize my phone isn't working anymore. My upgrade date was not until May 2013.

I say all of this to say that I was still able to do the buy up program and am now eligible to get the new phone this Friday. I know a lot of times most people say that you might have to call a couple of times and talk with a different person.

I paid $65 for my upgrade, some have gotten it for free if willing to make a big enough fuss and if never used your last "Super-Gold-Premium-Uber-Customer" upgrade before they shut that program down. Turns out I did use my last one of those so was ok with paying for the upgrade this go around.
