Earpiece and Speaker volume/quality

I haven't gotten this phone yet, but I've been noticing a number of reviews complaining about actually using the device for phone calls.
Can anyone compare it to the Galaxy Nexus? That's what I have right now, and it's already quite bad.
As long as it's no worse I'll be happy

Galaxy was a disaster. Motorola Droid maxx was much better, this phone blows Motorola out of the water. It's one of the loudest ear speakers I've had on the phone. Maybe people aren't holding it properly since the speaker is on the edge?

Yes. I had the Gnex, GS3, and moto x (2013) and this is by far the Loudest and clearest.

I agree, this phone has a great sounding speaker/call quality.
