Earpiece Shows Plugged In When Unplugged

How do i make the earpiece plugged in indicator go away when the earpiece is unplugged?

Hi and welcome to AndroidCentral.

There might be a bit of dirt in the headphone jack. Have you tried inserting and removing your headphones several times? That might dislodge any dirt.
