Easier access to App Drawer? Better List of Running App?

Hey, I've tried searching for solutions to this quirk, and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
One of my favorite layout features of WinMo was that at any time, you could press the window icon to get to your app drawer. I've been frustrated that in Android, I can only get to my app drawer by going home first. This is bothersome when I want to toggle between a couple different apps, like email, twitter, and say a dictionary app or browser.

Also the recently used programs list that pops up DOESN'T add apps that were opened from another program, so if I check my email from an alert, or open my browser from a link in my email, long pressing home wont show the browser or email, I have to go home, and hit a shortcut. I really wish the recently used pop (and task manager) would open a list of apps running like ATK does.

Ideally what I'd like to be able to do is long press Home key to have an ATK style list of running apps, and long press my Menu key to go directly to my app drawer. I've found Button Remapper, but it wont do this kind of remapping.

Are there any other solutions for remapping keys in Android?
