Easiest Root

My goals are simple. I need root solely for wireless tethering and Cisco VPN compatibility. I also want to be able to keep recieving OTA updates as they are released. What is the easiest way to root given my goals? I dont NEED custom Roms at this point. Is the easy root app compatible with Incredibles? Is my only real option to use unrevoked3?

unrevoked3 is very easy if you download the correct drivers and remove HTC sync from your computer.

fair enough. If I run it and root, does this method still allow for the Froyo OTA? or should I stay stock till then?

Good luck with Cisco vpn, I haven't found a vpn app yet that works.

You can always go back to stock fairly easy and after root you might not want to go back to stock ever. Once the official 2.2 is release all the rom developers will be making a new build off that release. Then you will have the stability of the offical release and root
