IMO the easiest way is to ODIN a stock rooted kernel. That's how I did it. Then use the recovery of that kernel to flash a rooted rom

I.used his method to root and i flashed a jb rom i.didnt like the jb rom so.now.im just rooted using.stock ics im curious on diffrent kernels tho and whats compatible with my phone im looking to speed my phone up

Go to xda and read up. There is a lot of different Roms over there to, the JB are under heavy development so you might want to stick to ICS for now. Just read up on different Roms and kernels and what they do, there is a lot of options just make sure you are flashing Roms from a SAFE RECOVERY so you don't brick your phone.

Lol thats what i ment i have cwm recovery and im now running just ics rooted of hand.do u know of.any kernel that will work.with what i have
