I used it all time time about 8-9 months ago. Was booted a lot. Discovered PDAnet and never looked back, or been booted off. Also seems a little faster to me.

I've tried both and prefer pdaNet.
I don't navigate to many HTTPS sites so the free version works fine for me.

been easytethering for awhile now. it's great for me. the only thing i really miss from pdanet is the data counter when it starts. but it really isn't a big deal since i monitor data through myverizon widget.

i too saw the 5 dollar price tag and grabbed it without even thinking twice. i dont care for the bluetooth tether on pdanet since i like to keep my phone charged anways. althought that is a nice option but i couldn't really get it to work.

bottom line easytether for 4.99 is a steal imo. pdanet used to go for what, 30 bucks one time? Id pick pdanet over e.t since they're similar but for that price, easy decision.

I have been using ET-Pro off and on when our DSL drops. Today, It stays connected for only a few minutes requiring a PC reboot to be able to connect. Anybody know of a way to fix this or do I need to change to PDANet?

Thanks for any help!

Does EasyTether require an extra tethering plan?

No. and it doesn't require rooting or anything.

the downside of this for both pdanet and easytether is that it requires you to connect using usb and pdanet or easytether software on your pc. but thats easy and really straight forward.

I dont abuse my data plan nor tether all day long everyday, only bits and pieces here and there when I travel. stick out like a sore thumb and im sure verizon wont like that very much. I pay my bills and stay humble.

So is it possible to use this app to tether my laptop and view live streams of an NFL game every Sunday without paying extra to Verizon? 4G is awesome here and way faster than my verizon home dsl.. I just don't want to buy Verizons tethering plan and pay an extra $30 a month.

Yes - You don't need to pay verizon

Not Sure - About NFL game, How would you stream? Unless you have Sunday ticket or something.

Every once in awhile we won't get the steelers game on tv around here ( they'll air the bills instead = / ) So I'll watch a game via justin.tv or similar site.

Edit:
Tried the free version and did a speed test ( 2.6Mbps DL ). It worked and connected to my laptop fine, hopefully I don't see any hidden charges using it just for a few videos every once in awhile =/

I use easy tether whenever I don't have wifi and want to use my laptop. I've never been booted off, and on 4G, I'm normally capped at around 12-14 MB/s down on my laptop.

Ran speedtest a few times with my thunderolt on 4G and got around 2MBps download, though connected via the free version of ET to my laptop I get around .8 MBps. I feel cheated after hearing you get 12-14 MBps = (

Yep it's slower tethered for me as well. 10 compare to 4. I was playing 720p youtube videos no problem on the laptop though so im not complaining.

Combine the tb with my netbook all in one rugged green canvas courier bag (NOT man purse:D) I am a powerhouse baby!! dare I say...JACK BAUER!? GASP** no guns here though but one nice Quark AA flashlight running on 14500 lithium ion battery. Okay im just rambling
