Ok...so a newbie question and what does this mean for me?

Im running CommRom and in my About Phone section, my baseband version in EB01 and my build number is ED01. What does that mean for me? Anything? My wife is running stock 2.2 on her Fascinate has ED01 in BOTH places on hers?

I know what the difference in EB01 and ED01 is...but I had the stock 2.2 BEFORE flashing the CommRom. Can someone explain? Just for my own personal knowledge and curiousity!!

i believe this means you are still on the eb01 modem. Did you flash ec01 modem in odin, or follow adrynalynes method to get the ed01 modem?

You may have been running stock before, but it wasn't the officially released stock ROM. EB01 was a leaked ROM that was never officially released. Adrynalyne got his hands on it and most of the ROMs prior to the official Froyo release (ED01) were based on the EB01 unofficial Froyo. Comm ROM does not contain a modem which is why your baseband still reads EB01 - because that's the modem your phone had before flashing the comm ROM. Your wife did the official OTA, and thus got the ED01 ROM and the ED01 modem.

I unrooted and everything and OTA'd the 2.2 just to get the ED01 radio. I made the mistake of flashing SC292 instead of just waiting that 2 more days before the CommRom was released. So Im assuming that when I flashed the SC292, thats where I got the EB01 modem? Is there a way to GET the ED01 modem at this point? Is there a difference at this point in the EB01 and the ED01? Enough to not wait for the Odin ED01 modem script?

It's possible we never see an ED01 modem leak, so as of now the only way to get it is through the OTA. EB01 had it's faults, and most have reported much better performance on EC01 and ED01.

So whats do you suggest...flash back to DL09 (eclair) stock, do the OTA update to 2.2, then flash the CommRom? Or is there a way to just simply flash the EC01 modem by itself, not changing any setup features I have now?

Yep flashing SC 2.9.2 is where you got the EB01 modem. In order to get the ED01 modem back you will either need to ODIN back to stock DI01 and get the OTA or follow Adrynalyne's steps in this thread:

It may be quite a while before we see a flashable ED01 modem. Adrynalyne has said none of his sources are willing to leak the ED01 modem to him right now.

Well I just answered you about your choices on the update process. As far as the EC01 modem, you can certainly do that as it will not take as long and it is not much different from the ED01 modem from what I hear.
