EC05 Download (won't flash)

not yet. tried several times. going to try a new approach and will be back with details. i jumped the gun a little. been since 1130am trying to find the file and when i "did" i jumped to get it out to you guys. my bad

now i do have a question....if and when the update is available and we are able to do the update.zip file onto our sd cards do i have to delete the first update.zip file that sprint released...the first froyo EB13 or can i just rename the new zip file to EC05?

Update:

Just attempted to flash it after Odin back to Stock Froyo EB13 in stock recovery and it failed after a few seconds into installation.

Anyone else willing to try go ahead but I'm calling this a corrupt file.

jus delete the thread i tried and it doesnt give me the option. im gonna find the darned thing. i have 7 hours till my next class. the internet is my playpen today.

From the thread over on the main Epic forum, the currently posted .TAR file is not compiled, which, in turn, means not-flashable. It is only for devs to work with.

Standard questions floating around about EC05:

Q: Can I flash the .TAR that Samsung posted?
A: No. (See Above)

Q: Can I just download the file from AC and update with it?
A: Once AC has the file, I'm sure they will post it. It hasn't been released yet. (See Above)

Q: Can I use the Update Firmware feature on my phone to force a download of the update file?
A: No, it will be pushed OTA over the course of 4 days. At this time, the Update Firmware feature only returns an error.

any word on this dumb update? i am recovering my phone (bricked it because odin crashed midway through going back to stock eb13. bad files or something. i ended up going back to the prerooted/ext4 version of eb13. booting cwm for first time again) so havent been surfin much. any word on a good, real working version? i've been to 2 sprint stores and been told the only way to get it is over the air. meaning we gotta wait for someone to get it and share it.
