Has anyone heard an update on when the Active 2 will get ECG and fall detection? I seem to recall that it was expected to be sometime this quarter. Any updated information or rumors?

I was waiting for it to reliably do the promised blood pressure readings, but it looks like Sammy lied a little about that :-[

Ha, ha. I was told once in response to a similar gripe “the mills of the gods grind oh so slowly, but oh so fine.”

BP was never promised by Samsung. It's a study by UCSF they support called MyBPlab and it actually works quite nicely with the watch active. It's a relative measurement : needs a reference.
And yes, it's a scientific study and you donate all your data.

I disagree somewhat. These "features" were prominently mentioned at first. There was the caveat that they needed FDA approval, but no indication that is would take this long.

I tried mybplab and found that it worked. My experience was that I needed to recalibrate a few times to get it to work correctly. After I few days I turned off the annoying nag to check BP. I find it to be an interesting feature, but not a feature that I need or use much. For me, it was just something to play around with. It worked well once I got it set up.

Why does it seem to me that if the Cupertino Crew put this feature in their product, it'd be approved in a NY Minute? Who has the best lobbyist?

Any new info on the ECG release? All I read is Feb or 1st qtr 2020, well Feb is gone and 1st qtr is almost past. Had planned on purchasing one of these watches this month but starting to wonder if they are really going to update it or if they will just come out with a new model in a few months. Hate to spend the money on this if it doesn't get updated with ECG/Fall Detection soon.

I was an early adopter of this watch. I even did the preorder with Samsung. It is time that we hear something from Samsung.

I'm not happy with this at all. I already had the S2 Classic (LTE) , but bought the Active2 (also LTE) solely for the ECG feature.

The ECG and Fall Detection were the reasons that I bought the Active 2 instead of the less expensive original Galaxy Active Watch. We still have some days to go before the end of first quarter, but I would expect to at least hear something by now.

LOL Apple Watch has had both for a while. They just did the proper testing.

That's the same reason I bought mine!

Being that this watch is technically "old" now I wouldn't hold my breath on Samsung doing anything about it. They're gonna start to focus on the active 3.

Even if they were to release a Galaxy active 3, you don't think that they still push the ecg to the active 2? I mean it's got the capabilities to support it.
