Make sure under the system notification settings that it's set to "Sound and Popup"I turned edge lightin on on my S10+ for Google Messages and Gmail. The lighting does not turn on when I recieve notifications for either of these apps. Anyone else experience this or have a possible solution?
I am sure, I tried sending a text and email with my wife's phone and no edge lighting appeared. It only comes on briefly....is it possible you are missing it?
I have that setting turned on for both apps.Make sure under the system notification settings that it's set to "Sound and Popup"![]()
Try to toggle it off and on and then reboot.I have that setting turned on for both apps.
Lol no it doesn't
Owh seriously?doesnt it work only when screen is facing the table for example?
The phone has to be face down
It used too yes! Now when phones off the whole screen lights up around the edge but doesn't stay on that long. You have to configure it in the Edge settings. I have mine set to do that.
Just a thought, you might increase the width of the lighting edge. If your device is in a case, it could be concealing the light.
That remedied the problem on my s9+.
Mines just works when it feels like. I have all the necessary settings turned on but I never seen it work while the phone was off even though I have it set to always work when phone on/off.
Yeah it could just be that Google Messages is not supported. Not all apps work with Edge Lighting. Gmail should work tho.I switched from Google messages to Textra and now the edge lighting works when I get a text.
