I've looked and can't seem to find posts in this here ( please link if there are). I can't get Edge Lighting notifications to work , I've researched online and it seems to be a common issue/ complaint. I've tried all manner of settings as per articles I've read, not working for me at all.

It's annoying not that I think it will be very useful just that I want it to work

Mine works just fine.

Common remedy seems to be is just enable for all notifications.

Of course that isn't a guaranteed fix so ymmv.

I've done enable for all, you get notifications for texts and what else?

Nevermind, stupid me ,it's working , had the phone face down and got some tests and saw the blue flashing for several seconds, nothing for email though??

Are you referring to the edge lighting that comes on when the phone rings I can't get it to work for anything else

Yes I'm referring to Edge lighting .

Sorry, typo, meant it worked when I got texts. I think I didn't really know how it was supposed to work, I didn't know it works when the phone rings , what other times does it work?

it only works when the phone is face down?

Just picked up S8+ from T-Mobile store yesterday. I also can't get edge lighting to turn on. Just get the regular led notification light when I get a text/email.

Go to Settings>Display>Edge Screen> Edge screen always on

You have to scroll down on the display options list to find Edge screen.

also don't expect it to light up when yiu are holding the phone looking at it, as said go to settings, then have someone send you a text, have phone face down and when texts comes in watch as the edge display lights up for several seconds (one time)
