So I was setting up my other half's galaxy S8 today and she was complaining that the lock screen doesn't show her any notification when she gets a whatsapp message.
I was trying to work out why this was, because my Note8 has a cool edgescreen display effect and a popup at the top of the screen showing me who has sent a message and what is in it.
Then inexplicably, my phone has stopped showing me these notifications too. The screen just stays dark and the LED comes on. It's such an odd coincidence i can only assume this is due to an update, only all of my settings are the same as they were before. I have tried restarting the device, clearing the edge screen cache, and even reinstalling whatsapp, but the edgescreen still won't light up for whatsapp messages.
The only thing i've done today is install a software update to the phone. Has this functionality just gone now?
