My girlfriend has an S7 Edge. Sometimes I'm jealous because I feel like her phone does more than the S8 and has a wider screen. Despite the S8 having a sleeker look, I think the S7 Edge may be the superior phone.
One thing that the S7 Edge does that the S8 doesn't (as far as I can tell) is to have notifications show up on the edge when the screen is off. This is a nifty little feature. Also when she swipes the edge she gets notifications and updates from certain apps like news and weather. This may be superfluous, but I think it can be configured to do more than just give you some news and weather headlines.
