Edgeboard Favorites not showing all app icons with Oreo update

I have tried different themes and icon packs (including the default), moved apps in/out folders in drawer and on/off home screen, checked whether apps were in internal storage (they are) or SD and did a cache partition wipe - -

Certain apps just will no longer show its icon in the Edgeboard Favorites, but instead display a gear wheel image. This is the only place the icons have any difficulties displaying, as elsewhere is perfectly fine.

Just updated software to Oreo... Samsung Galaxy S8.

Hello!. i´m having the exact same problem....... i´m from Chile by the way. hope this gets a solution because there´s some rumors that apps competitions are doing this.
