EE 4G Micro Card

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a basic Samsung Note off eBay (not Note 2 or Note 3) and wanted to know if I could use a EE 4g micro/mini sim card in this phone. I know I won't get the 4g signal, but was wondering if the phone would work 3G or 2G with the 4G card.
