Many reports in August claimed that the US FDA had approved EKG for the watch3. But I have not received the necessary software for my Watch3.

Anybody else? Any news about when?

That's because it IS approved...but Samsung has not released the update in the US yet (only for blood oxygen and fall detection).

At the Samsung event they stated that the wait would not be like last year on the active 2 was I think samsung heard enough bad press over this.

In their defense for the Active 2, however, it wasn't their fault... FDA had not approved Samsung's EKG until this year (and not sure the Watch 3 FDA Approval includes the Active 2, but don't see why not).

I can't give them a full pass on that. Before they promote a big feature like EKG, they should have a pretty good idea of the time frame involved.

Is it time to file a complaint with Federal Trade Commission for false and misleading advertising.

The update just came through for me. Im located in the USA.

Interesting if true...

Did it add the blood pressure monitor too?
No blood pressure monitor in this update. The ECG feature is there and works great so far. You need a Samsung health monitor app that stores your ECG info and it's also where blood pressure monitoring will be once available.

Interesting...i wonder when/if it'll land in the UK... And if resetting my watch and selecting the US as my region will enable it lol.

Samsung just released an update today with the ekg working. I am still waiting for the update I live in the states so no update yet.

"Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 3 and Active 2 can now take EKG readings in the US - The Verge" https://www-theverge-com.cdn.amppro...h-3-active-2-ekg-ecg-electrocardiogram-update
Have you manually checked for updates in the galaxy wear app? Per the article you referenced you also must have a Samsung phone to get the Samsung health monitor app. That's all I know to suggest at this point.

I got the update for my Active 2 this AM that included EKG. I had to also download the supplemental app called Samsung Health Monitor mentioned in order to use it.

Unsurprisingly it told me I had no signs of atrial fibrillation.

After I got the ECG update, it will ask you to download the Samsung Health Monitor app. I opened up the app and it says it can't find a compatible watch. I guess they need to update the app still. Anyone in the United States having this problem too?

Are you kidding me??? I'm seeing that the companion health monitor app for ekg is only for samsung galaxy phones. Unless I missed something in the last year, this was never mentioned.

Did I miss this?

I just downloaded and installed the app. It connected with my GSW 3 with no issues.
