Elite stuck on password lock screen

I recently bought a spare phone off of EBay that is stuck on a password lockscreen. Got the phone to replace the camera in mine. Would like to know how I can go about geeting off of the screen without spending and eternity trying to figure out the passcode.

I booted into the boot screen and tried wiping the cache and also doing a factory reset, but it seems to just sit there and do nothing. No big deal, but would be nice to get working to try out various roms before installing them on my everyday phone.

You're pretty much going to need to do the factory reset...

Didn't seem to do anything, but sit there.....shouldn't take very long to do a reset, should it?

Nope it shouldn't. You might have a lemon on your hands.

it was worth it to get the camera, couldn't find a replacement anywhere online.
I will keep messing with it.

Fixed it, finallygot it to do a factory reset. I had no idea that you could use the menu key on the keypad......just thought you had to use the volume/power button while on the bootscreen. My wife made me look stupid, yet once again. lol
