I just upgraded my Note 2 to 4.3 jelly bean.

Now the first thing that I noticed was the the Email push notifications in the default email client were not working. I had to manually hit the refresh button.

I deleted and re-added the account but no luck.

I must say, The Sync under the notification panel is disabled, When I enable it, the email works fine.

I had Sync turned off(under notification panel) in my older version at all times because it consumes too much battery. The email push notifications worked with Sync turned off.

Why won't they work now?

1) Are you on an exchange server?

2) Was this an official release of 4.3 or did you root?

I was having the same issue. I never used to have the sync setting turned on in the notification panel. Now the only way for me to get my emails pushed to me is with that on.
Kind of a **** off.

Looks to me, the previous version had a bug, always working regardless of the sync setting in the notification bar.
Seems to me, the sync button, have to enable/disable all syncs which are setup in the system settings accounts.

I tested it on other phone such as Sony xperia which still have the 4.1.2. They do receive the Push mails even when the Sync is turned off.
If this functionality were a bug in the last version, would it go unnoticed for so long? It seems more like a feature rather than a bug.

Now with 4.3, the only way I can receive the PUSH mails is that I need to Turn ON the SYNC, and within that disable other accounts which I do not want to SYNC except my email account.

Regards to email settings on the Knox side of the phone.
I have added a Microsoft Exchange email to it and have noticed that the settings are different then on the regular side of the phone.
Under sync settings, regularly I can set it for push email. However when in Knox, it is either manual or different time allotments. No push email.
Doesn't this kind of defeat the purpose of using knox for work. I would prefer to get my emails as soon as possible. Not at a minimum of 15 minutes.

Strange..I am able to select PUSH, it's there in KNOX

Hey Rishi, not that I doubt you, but would you be able to throw up a screen shot?
Also what kind of email are you using? Microsoft or a different provider?

Thanks Rishi. I have no idea why I could never set mine to push.
I ended up un installing the Knox software as it was draining the life of my battery. 30 percent over night while it was idle was way too much.
