Email counter missing with Nova launcher

Can someone please explain to me what the teslaunread plug in is? I have nova prime, just installed this plug in but I'm not sure what it's good for? Bottom line, I tried to research what exactly this is & it just kept bringing me to these types of blogs or forums. So I figured, let me ask here...thank you in advance for any help... :)

Basically what it does is show you any unread messages you have. From missed calls to missed email's from multiple sources. It will show you a tally count of how many you missed

Just in case (I realize this is an old thread, but given that I step across it whilst trying to solve a similar issue, I'll post this on the off chance it helps someone,at some stage!)

The Tesla plug in is an attachment app that allows Nova launcher (prime) to access and read certain apps and display an 'unread count'.

The most common reason that it won't appear to work is that you have to authorize it to read certain apps.

The way to do this is - open 'nova settings' , navigate to 'unread count badges' - scroll down and you will see 'TeslaUnread Settings' (and the version number). CLICK ON THIS... and it will open the access dashboard for the TeslaUnread app.

From there it's pretty straightforward - you toggle on/off the apps you want unread counts for and you should be all set.(there are some other apps that it offers to try to read that aren't on a common database, but I have no idea how well that works)

I hope that helps someone.
