Email icon help

I recently left apple for Samsung s5 and I love it so far!

However my Samsung email icon says I have 5 new emails and I don't. This happened yesterday too and I ended up deleting the account and reinstalling it. Which is a total pain because it ends syncing thousands of emails. What else could make it do this
