I woke up on Saturday morning to the news that 2.2.1 was available for download, which I did immediately. Since I am rather new to the Ally and the Android operating system, I am not sure of all of the "improvements", but one thing I have noticed and haven't figured out, is the message on the Lock Screen, saying that the is email, and how many. This is still visible even when all emails have been read. I am using the K-9 mail app rather than the included app for email. Maybe that has something to do with it, but can't imagine why.

Any thoughts on this?

I'm having the same issue since the Froyo upgrade. How do I clear this from the lock screen and/or eliminate it?

An update from here is that I was using the K-9 email app and the Handcent SMS app, and when checked the default apps I found that there seemed to be sensing the messages and displaying them on the Lock screen. I have reverted back to the default apps and all is OK. How to make the other apps work is a good question. I didn't feel the optional apps were worth the aggravation.
