Email not syncing - S4 - Native client

Emails are not automatically pushing or syncing with the device and providing a notification.
The manual refresh option does function as intended.

Options:
Sync email: Yes
Sync Schedule: "Push" and "5 minutes" tested.
While roaming: Use above settings
Peak schedule: Disabled

Model: S4 / GT-I9505
Android version 4.2.2
Email service: Hotmail / Exchange 2010

If you've just updated your handset to a new version of Android, it might take a while for the OS to "break in". After that, all features and services should start working correctly.

If that's not the case, it may be a conflicting problem with how the account on the email service you've mentioned is set up. You may have to remove the account and add it back.
 
Isn't the master sync on the top drag down at notification area?

Drag top of screen down and see if sync is turned on

If your phone is running 4.2 or later then try this-

Setting->My Device->Display->Notification Panel

Here you can change the Drop down page icons. Hold an icon and replace with unnecessary one.
